Lisette’s: where to buy

If your parents threw away all your old books and you want to spend your hard earned money on getting your hands on these books, here are some places to look.

  • Garage sales! Some people actually want to get rid of these gems.
  • Ebay: many people post auctions for large collections for a pretty good deal.
  • Amazon marketplace: When you search for them in amazon, they are officially out of print, but people usually sell them for mere pennies. But shipping and handling costs 4 bucks, so look for sellers that combine shipping.
  • Thriftbooks: good selection
  • Abebooks: also good selection
  • Alibris
  • Fantastic Fiction: a site from the UK with lots of cover illustrations which aggregates prices on used books from other sites.
  • Book mooch: trade your books

Also, I’ve had lots of luck at public libraries- they often have yearly or semi-yearly sales and the older editions of SV are almost always on the table for next to nothing.

The ENTIRE Sweet Valley High canon. Bidding has started at $50 with $20 shipping from Alaska (will take 4-5 weeks to arrive. The agony!) and is going on for six days.

The seller is unloading them because she doesn’t have a daughter to pass them on to. ADOPT ME.

Could this be the holy grail of the Dairi Burger?

On Mar-19-08 at 22:14:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

    ***ATTENTION***

I also have a Sweet Valley High Game. It has the board, 3 games pieces, 4 game cards, 23 item cards and 34 cards. It is missing one game piece and 2 cards from the deck. The outer box shows wear and the board shows some wear, but other than that it is in good condition. I will pay the shipping for this box. You would be receiving a total of three boxes.

    Thank you.

GODDAMN!! This lady is AWESOME! Bidding is up to $102.50. Reserve has been met.

Thank you for these links!! I ordered Double Love from Amazon – I was soo happy to get it for $.01, but it’ll add up a lot if I order them all. Plus I’m having shit luck on Amazon :( I just started poking around Thirt Books (which I didn’t know about) and it looks great!

I’ve been filling in the blanks in my collection from ebay. Since there are only particular books I want, it’s easy to find them for like $1. The only thing is my OCD will only allow me to buy the books with the original circle-frame covers… those 90’s covers ruin the vibe…

I love ebay. this is a particularly hilarious listing for two reasons:

    1. the picture is just entirely too suggestive! especially considering how clear they make it that
    2. Dawn does not have panties.
    3. no fuckin’ way is that mallory.

Any decent Goodwill in a metropolitian area should have tons of little house, sweet valley, babysitter’s club, nancy drew, etc.
I bought a complete set of little house for my daughter, and could have many times over over the years.

One more thing. A tip when buying from Amazon sellers: make sure under the sellers name it says “Fulfilled by Amazon”. That way you get Amazon shipping. And not the $3.99-$4.99 per book on shipping. The amazon seller I use most is New Chapter Recycling and Bargain Quality Books.
