Beautiful Girls Play Ugly Games

I saw this on another community. It’s the release books for #3 and #4.
Uggghhhhrrr! Why oh why? You already know my thoughts on this. And what is with the #3? Is that Bruce in the background. And the caption “sometimes beautiful girls play ugly games”. Obvs, they mean the twins because that is when Robin Wilson is a fat pig. Who do the twins look like? I think a little bit like Claire from Lost. But not particularly attractive. Kind of like most blonde college girls.
EDITED: I didn’t know this was an actual actress, thanks to those that identified her as Levin Rambin. I looked her up, and she could totally play the twins in a split-screen-Parent-trap sort of thing.

In the pictures with the upswept hairdos, they kinda look like much plainer versions of Alicia Silverstone’s character Cher in “Clueless”.

Word, Stacey — that dude totes resembles Ken Mathews on the cover of “Fatal Night”. (That’s the one in which no one dies but Kenny Boy goes temporarily blind, right?)
You know, this is how I always imagined the Wakefield twins – attractive and universally pleasing to the eye in that there’s nothing particularly wrong with their faces, but without any quirks or features that would make them stand out as extraordinarily beautiful to any observer. Kind of like most of the people in Hollywood.
Those covers look almost exactly alike. Will all of the covers in this version of the series have two pictures of nondescript attractive blonde girls even when the story doesn’t really have to do with them? that’s gonna get boring. Even though the original covers are super cheesy, at least they mixed it up a bit. Bruce Patman should really be on book 3.
Over in 1bruce1, they used Hayden Panet…whozit. I totally bought her as the Wakefields. Plus, we all know she can play a whiny blond quite well.

I really like how they are not really wearing much makeup and they do not have hair extensions.
I really do not like how these pictures make the “twins” look like they have gigantic chins.
They also do not appear to be the fashion plates they are hyped up to be!

I think the model is pretty and works for the twins, better than the daniel twins did, at least. I don’t know about that guy on Playing with Fire though….
There was some sort of announcement saying they were going to update the books, adding email and cellphones and crap. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to it. ^_^

I completely agree with Deathy’s comments that these twins work better than the Daniel twins. Nothing against them… they just don’t match up with my mental image of the Wakefields.
These twins certainly follow on in the vein of the blondes in The O.C. and Gossip Girl and other teen dramas.
Oh GOD. Leven Rambin is a horrible Lindsay Lohan in the making, but before I knew it was her, I actually thought the new covers made for a pretty Jess/Elizabeth look. Now that I know it’s her, I’m a little grossed out and disappointed. I wish it were an unknown.
The Daniels twins always looked like porn stars. And some of the other ones looked not at all what I imagined.
I wonder who else would would be an awesome Jess/Liz. Can we post opinions and pictures?

I think they just changed a few things, like the twinsize, no more Robert-Redford Collins…
Some actresses who look like my personal mental image of the twins: A very young Marley Shelton, Rachel Blanchard, or Heather Graham (as in, Heather Graham in License to Drive, but with blonder, straighter, shinier, less ’80s wild-perm hair).

I don’t understand how these books will appeal to any new teens today unless they completely change everything about the stories….they already have stories like Gossip Girl and whatever else there is that are more “today” than SVH with lots of ridiculous changes. But I guess they think now’s the time to cash in…
I don’t understand the school blog thing either…and who will they compare Mr. Collins to if not Robert Redford?
I had never heard of Leven Rambin, so I had to google her. It’s kind of puzzling that they chose somebody as the model who’s already known to readers. For some reason I expected them to pick somebody unfamiliar.
As for that description of “Power Play”, WTH? The Sweet Valley Beautification Committee? What, does Jessica actually plan to start sending people into exile for not living up to the standards of beauty to which the residents of SV are accustomed?
You know, as cheesy as the old taglines were…I’m going to miss them compared to these ones. “Beautiful girls play ugly games”…have the Wakefield twins been writing poetry again?
Curiosity aside, the sad thing is, I have to own/read all these new editions, or my life will not be complete.

I agree completely! I always thought they looked trashy, and significantly different than what I pictured the girls from the Twins covers would grow up to look like.
Also, I’m kind of sad they are using one girl as the “twins”. I feel cheated that it’s not actual twins.
That’s funny, Levin already plays the good twin/bad twin role on All My Children. Liz=Lily and Jess=Eva. Who knows, mabye an SVH movie is next!
Does anyone watch Dancing With The Stars? Julianne Hough would be perfect as the model for the twins.
